Hi all, an update on the current state of things. Cuvlerake launched our debut album "Unto the Sky" in Ocober 2025 to great success. Since then we've been gigging around the Uk but we also did a short tour of New Zealand in January 2026. Very exciting. Plenty of gigs coming up this year. My pocast "In the Roud - A Folk Song Podcast" has been going from strength to strength and will continue at its usual pace. Season 6 (covering Rouds 51 - 60) will begin later this month. My d

Following a successful album launch, two tours and some festivals, George Sansome & I will be continuing with more tours and festivals this year.   I have a new harmony trio starting up with Lizzy Hardingham and Seb Stone.   There's a new ceilidh series, Sheffield Scratch Ceilidh. Spring 2019 MERRY NEW YEAR!!! ​ I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year.    The coming months are rather exciting for me, because I have two new albums coming out. The first is the album "Unaccustomed As We Are" the debut album by myself and melodeon maestro Owen Woods. We will be going on a short tour at the end of April to launch the album. Autumn 2018 This autumn is very exciting indeed. I am recording two albums with two separate groups.  ​ Currently underway is the album recording with my good friend Owen Woods. Our debut album "Unaccustomed As We Are" will be completed soon and released in April 2019 with some launch gigs around the country. Netherlands & Iceland - May 2018 I am very excited to be going abroad as a performer and a teacher this year. ​ 10th to 12th May - I will be teaching the melodeon at Trek er es Uut in Netherlands.  30th May to 2nd June - I shall be performing and teaching at Vaka Folk Arts Festival in Iceland. ​ See my 'shows' page for links. ​ Matt - 13/02/2018
